Sink Hole Spring Hill Warning Signs of Sink Holes

Sink holes are an expensive fix that can happen to almost anyone living in a region that is known for having Karst terrain. Karst is a type of landscape formed from the dissolution of soluble rocks including limestone, dolomite, and gypsum. Although it is hard to see what is going on below the ground for evidence of a sink hole, Spring Hill residents can still notice some warning signs in and around their home as a sink hole gets bigger and more dangerous. It is important to note that some of these signs can also be circumstantial with aging.

What to Take Notice of in Your Yard

If your neighborhood is known to be a hotbed for sinkhole activity, there would be some warning signs present in your yard if one seems to be hiding under your property. One of the easiest signs to spot is if standing water starts collecting in an area that never previously had puddles. If you have a well on your property, the water could potentially start to turn cloudy or muddy caused by the presence of a sink hole. Spring Hill residents might also notice that fence posts, trees, and other objects in your yard appear to be slumping or sagging. Additionally, fences and posts can be sticking up higher off the ground if the land underneath is giving way.

Signs in Your House That a Sink Hole is Present

A lot of times when there is a sink hole located underneath a house, the doors and windows will not close properly. Things that have closed and locked tightly before might slowly be shifting and moving causing problems. Cracks that are found on different surfaces are a big sign that your house might have a sink hole. Spring Hill residents might also be able to see cracks in their walls, tile, and concrete if there was a problem with their property. Although not all of these signs mean a sink hole is present definitely, but they are still good things to watch out for just in case.
