Modern Method

High strenghth steel piers are inserted into the ground below your home until they reach solid ground, or bedrock. The piers are connected to the foundation of the structure via a steel bracket, that distributes the load over a larger section of the foundation. After that, the a concrete mixture is injected into the pier and forms a bulb below the pier, that ensures that the pier will not move below the ground.
